Memorandum

Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Shipping Request

Key Points to Writing
  • If you haven't already, Take a writing class. English Comp will do.
  • WRITE!!! The more you do it, the better you get.
  • Ask for HELP, not knowing what you are doing can hurt you, your "Airmen" and unit.
  • Use various writing resources like Merriam-Webster Online
  • Use a spell checker.  (F7 Word)
  • Remember, there is a purpose for writing a letter or MFR.

The following Example has been taken out of a Word.  If you have anything you would like to submit, please do so.  If you have found this information useful, please let me know. Everyone of these letters has taken considerable amount of time to put together.  Please treat yourself to something special from one of the ads on the page.  We will both get something out of it.  (All money gathered pays for hosting fees and domain fees.  HONESTLY, when I see money come in it also prompts me to work harder on the site.)

MEMORANDUM FOR ## VPC

FROM: SSgt <FNAME> <MI>. <LNAME>
             (Work Center)
             (Address)
             (Base, STATE  ZIP)

SUBJECT: Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Shipping Request

1. 1. Request authorization for shipment, ownership, and possession of a POV at <BASE>, Republic of Korea. My wife, <FNAME>, will be accompanying me to the #### ?????? Squadron, via Designated Location Move on ## <MON> <YEAR>. Our 11 year old daughter, <FNAME>, is currently living with my mother-in-law in Korea, and will reside with the two of us when we get there. Department of Defense Dependent Schools will only be available to <FNAME> on a space available basis because she will be a non-command sponsored dependent. Traveling alone to and from an off-base school would not be safe for <FNAME>, especially during inclement weather. A POV would allow us to provide safe year round transportation for <FNAME>.

2.  In addition, <FNAME> is also a non-command sponsored dependent and the medical facilities at which my family will need to attend are space-available as well. The ability to possess a POV would ensure immediate transportation to an off-base hospital in case of an emergency.

3. Please contact via e-mail <OFFICIAL EMAIL ADDRESS> or by phone DSN XXX-XXXX  with any questions.
