SNCO JOINT PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION (JPME) CORRESPONDENCE COURSE AND EPR COMMENTS AND SNCO EVALUATION BRIEF

Author: HQ USAF WASHINGTON DC//DPP//

As of 011549Z APR 09

Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME) EPR comments removes this guidance.

1. The web based SNCO JPME correspondence course was created to provide SNCOs selected for joint assignments information to quickly assimilate and effectively contribute in the joint environment.

2. The SNCO academy course (correspondence/in-residence) remains the expected PME for all SNCOs to complete. The SNCO evaluation brief will continue to reflect SNCO academy completion, with method of completion masked.

3. While any SNCO may enroll in the web based JPME correspondence course through the advanced distributed learning service (ADLS) web site, the intent of this course is to provide deliberate and timely education and training for SNCOs to perform in their upcoming joint assignment. The course should not be used in an effort to square fill for evaluation board purposes. Note: the joint EPME correspondence course is not equivalent to completion of the AFSNCO academy by correspondence.

4. Effective immediately, EPR comments on completion of the JPME correspondence course are prohibited. Previously, comments were allowed because there was no MILPDS update available for JPME correspondence completion. However, a MILPDS update code is now available and completion will be reflected on surfs. This change is consistent with current policy only allowing EPR comments referencing winning of official PME awards (John Levitow honor graduate, commandant/leadership award, academic achievement and distinguished graduate). There is no distinguished graduate or official awards program for PME correspondence courses. SNCOA completion credit is reflected on the SNCO evaluation brief and effective 1 Oct 07 (MSgts) and 1 Aug 07 (SMSgts) only SNCOs who have completed SNCO academy (correspondence or in-residence) will be eligible for senior rater endorsement consideration.
