The Pareto's Principle is great.  I first learned about it in the NCOA.  (One of the few things I found useful)  I wish I would of learned (knew of) this earlier in my career.  It helps explain why some people just seem to be taking up air.

Eighty percent, 80% of the results or value are achieved through/by twenty percent, 20% of the activities/people.

–80% of sales are made by 20% of salesmen
–80% of absenteeism results from 20% of employees
–80% of sick leave is taken by 20% of workers
–80% of group discussion is presented by 20%

Eliminate the “Trivial Many” 80% and focus on the “Vital Few” 20%

•Review your activities and determine which are the “Vital Few” that will provide the maximum value towards accomplishing our most desired goals.
So in closing:

If you may feel you are surround by idiots, you are one of the Vital Few!  This is very important that you need to take care of yourself.  Review the various writing guides and instructions.  Work hard at being a successful Vital Few!

If you feel that you are lagging behind and others are zooming past you, take a look at your self.  You may just be one of the Trivial Many!  Your life is in your hands, fix it if you would like.  Otherwise, please move over and let the others pass...
